Image Cropper
Trim an image down to just the good part. Drop it in, drag the selection box over what you want to keep, lock an aspect ratio if you need one, and download the crop. Full resolution, fully private, all in your browser.
Crop without losing quality
Cropping is non-destructive to the part you keep. The selection box works on a scaled preview for easy handling, but the crop itself is taken from the original full-resolution image, so the area you keep stays exactly as sharp as it started.
Drag and resize
Move the box to frame your subject, then pull any edge or corner to size it. The live readout shows the exact pixel dimensions.
Lock a ratio
Need a perfect square for an avatar or 16:9 for a banner? Pick a ratio and the box keeps its shape as you resize.
Keeps the format
JPEGs export as JPEG, everything else as PNG so transparency survives the crop.
Private by design
The crop runs on an HTML canvas in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your image stays with you.
How to use the cropper
- Add an image. Drag a file onto the box or browse for one.
- Frame your crop. Drag the selection box and resize it with the handles.
- Lock a ratio (optional). Choose 1:1, 16:9, 4:3 or 3:4 if you need a fixed shape.
- Crop and download. Click Crop to render the result, then save it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop an image online?
Drop an image in, drag and resize the selection box over the part you want to keep, optionally lock an aspect ratio, then click Crop and download the result.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The kept region is taken from the original pixels at full resolution. Cropping only removes the area outside the box, so what remains is as sharp as the original.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The crop is done with an HTML canvas in your browser, so your image never leaves your device. The tool is free and works offline once loaded.
Can I crop to an exact size?
Lock the aspect ratio you need and watch the pixel readout as you resize. To hit an exact pixel size afterwards, run the crop through the Image Resizer.
